BIO
Michael Compitiello has over 35 years of combined Federal Government experience. He served in the U.S. Air Force for a rescue squadron that participated in numerous air rescue missions and received personal recognition for his participation in Hurricane Andrew Relief and Storm of the Century missions.
Michael also served as a Senior Special Agent and Supervisory Special Agent with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security/Homeland Security Investigations for 26 years. During his tenure with DHS/HSI, he enforced and prosecuted federal immigration laws and located and apprehended war crimes violators and fugitives from justice. Michael specialized in investigating and prosecuting large-scale fraud rings, narcotics, financial, international money laundering (Kleptocracy), national security and human trafficking cases. As part of his duties, he also supervised an investigative group composed of several special agents and multiple task force officers who investigated and prosecuted major federal crimes for all of Broward County, Florida.
He created and managed an HSI Document Benefit Fraud Task Force, supervised operations of the HSI Human Trafficking Task Force and also supervised the International Narcotics Trafficking Group at Miami International Airport. Additionally, he served as a Member of the U.S. delegation to South Africa to attend the Global Forum for international money laundering.
Michael received the HSI Director’s Award for Excellence in Investigations for leading a large-scale investigation and prosecution of a fraud conspiracy ring in South Florida that involved more than 200 criminal targets. He is also the past recipient of the INS Commissioner’s Award.
Michael has testified on numerous occasions in federal district court regarding U.S. Code Title 8, the body of federal law dealing with immigration and nationality law and U.S. Code Title 18 dealing with criminal offenses at the federal level. He has been featured as a guest instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. Additionally, he has served as a guest speaker at various universities regarding student visa compliance and for ICEF Monitor, an intelligence resource for the international education industry.

Through his positions with DHS/HSI and years of collaboration with the law enforcement community, Michael forged lasting, working relationships with various federal, state, and local law enforcement officials and agencies. He is well-regarded by the law enforcement community throughout the United States.
